Boutique Hotel in downtown Victoria. Location is good, unique old building and
the room (king suite) was ok, not spectacular but well appointed. Hotel is going
to close to complete renos Jan to May 2012 and will no doubt be very nice when
done.
Bed was comfortable, great water pressure in shower and looked clean. Our room
was one floor up from the street (Pandora) and boy did we know it. Buses, cars,
people, every noise seemed to flow right up to our room so ask for a higher
floor away from traffic noise.
Otherwise, very nice, would recommend.

We checked into the Rialto this week for a few days away. My husband had booked
the Romance package ages ago. When we arrived the staff was friendly but when
she realized that the room she had us in wasn't finished being prepared, she
switched us to a different 4th floor room. Unfortunately that room backed onto
the elevator shaft and had a view of a nearby cement wall. My husband went back
to the desk and they offered us an upgrade to a 1st floor suit at no charge. It
was great. They brought up fresh flowers, sparkling water (is normally wine but
we don,t drink and they graciously offered a substitution), and a cheese and
chocolate strawberry platter. This is part of the romance package. It also comes
with $50 at the Veneto tapa lounge, which was great for dinner. The room was
clean, Quiet and roomy. I would definitely stay again. Be sure to get the
romance package!

A clean, comfy, well-run hotel right in downtown Victoria. I stayed with my
three year-old, and the staff were happy to accommodate any special needs and
requests.
The room was a bit small, but the bathroom was large and spotlessly clean. We
could hear the TV from next room nearly all the time, which was a bit annoying.
The mattress and duvet are super comfortable -- we slept very well.
The cafe downstairs is classy, well-lit, and makes good lattes. A good place to
watch people walk by on the busy street outside.
Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the city lights.

This Hotel is classy, and nicely renovated
The Cafe has a small offering which is good for a light meal, although the hot
chocolate was a bit of a disappointment. It had all the makings of a good hot
chocolate but something went a- miss and it seemed very bland.
The lounge is a great experience, from the comfy coffee table feel where groups
can gather or in a booth were 6 or more can gather as well. Typical seats at the
bar and restaurant style table and chairs available as well. Small plates are
what they offer and they are delectable and unique, and a great value. Great for
sharing. This is a place where you can be what you want to be and have the
experience that you want, all with great food and class. 3 Dips and flat bread,
was a great plate to share...well done. Many spirits available and a nicely
stocked liquor store is on the premises, with the usual offerings, to somewhat
unusual. Enjoy! I'd definitely go back, much more left to sample from the menu.

this hotel is in the process of going through a renovation. the building is
historic and quaint. the new decor & carpeting is trendy chic. some of the rooms
still have the older hotel carpeting, but new furniture and bedding. the hotel
is pretty clean. the shower was a little too small, but manageable. the cafe is
awesome - they have great coffee and baked goods. the location is great, right
in the heart of Victoria and within walking distance to the waterfront and other
sight seeing areas. parking was included, which was very nice. the parking lot
is about a block away.

On a flying visit from the UK, visited Victoria for 1-nt with my daughter and
Canadian aunt. We were looking for somewhere central, easy to get to by bus from
the ferry, clean and with good service, we found it all here.
If I were to be picky, the room was missing coffee, soon replenished, and the
heating would not turn down...I had a window so no probs.
Found the staff to be very accommodating, and the prices reasonable, the real
positive was location. I would definitely return should I ever have the
opportunity.

My new wife and I stayed two nights in the hotel. We were on our honeymoon and
found the hotel through Groupon. When we arrived the front staff greeted us and
told us of the history and helped us to feel at home. Our room was spacious,
clean and well appointed with two flat screens, coffee maker, microwave and
refrigerator. When we arrived in our room we found a personalized note from the
hotel manager congratulating us on our wedding. The staff told us about sites we
could visit and took the time to outline the maps to guide us to the different
destinations. We visited the attached bar and restaurant both nights. Our first
night we had appetizers and were treated to the most delicious drinks including
the history of the drink and Simon was very pleasant in explaining where the
drink originated from and then going so far as to share the recipe for the 20th
century which was like drinking a vacation. The next night we enjoyed the duck
and the lamb trio plates for dinner. Amazing taste, presentation and filling as
well. We would recommend this hotel and its restaurant to anyone who enjoys
quality, friendliness and a great value.
