We stayed one night but wish it could have been more. The service was very
attentive, the room very comfortable with lots of extras; 5 pm wine reception a
great opportunity to meet other guests with delicious food - all done in the
lovely old fashioned library; breakfast was cooked fresh to order with lots of
choices. Did think toast should have been served with eggs. We asked for some
and this was duly made but too late to go with the eggs. Location was really
good - a nice walk to the city/waterfront and a quiet area.

Friendly staff who gave great restaurant recommendations, yummy breakfast with
several options and great service, lovely 5 pm appetizers, very comfy bed and
spacious rooms/bathrooms, well cared for property, a short walk to everything
including two lovely parks, downtown and inner harbor...Abigail's was the
perfect place to stay during our Victoria getaway. We'll be back and tell all of
our friends too!

My wife and I stayed here for our 10th anniversary. I can't say enough about the
wonderful staff, management and ambiance of this incredible property. The
breakfasts are out of this world and prepared by some amazing people who
obviously take pride in their profession and creations!
Don't even second guess yourself if you are considering staying in downtown
Victoria. Just call and book at Abigails and you won't be disappointed!

I booked this hotel based on reviews, and could not have been happier. The staff
was superb, helpful, cheerful, accommodating, and a pleasure to interact with.
The room (Canterbury Bell - one of the honeymoon suites) was spacious,
immaculately clean, and had an incredibly comfortable bed. The windows are
doubled-paned to keep out outside sounds (of which there are not many), there is
radiant heating from the walls - quite and efficient. Their is a/c if you need
it. The bathroom is beautiful and luxurious with thick robes and towels, a huge
double jaccuzi tub that was amazing. The room was at the end of the third floor
hall and extremely quiet - we never heard any sounds from elsewhere in the
hotel. The library downstairs is well stocked for books and videos. We loved the
afternoon hors d'oeuvres, which were varied and extremely tasty. Breakfasts were
cooked fresh to order with choices each morning from a small menu, accompanied
by fresh juice, good coffee and fresh berries as well as freshly baked breads
and muffins.
Staff helped us with several restaurant reservations, gave advice on places to
eat, where to get a sandwich for our Clipper ride back, etc. While this place is
a few minutes walk from the center of the city, it is just far enough away to be
quiet and relaxing.
In short, a perfect and romantic place for a long weekend or longer. Best hotel
experience we've had in many years. |
