i used to like this hotel due to its Harbourside
location and nice views. But the service level has
deteriorated from my previous experiences. The pool is
also not clean and well maintained as it should be and
the restaurant food quality has something to be desired.
I will now be considering other hotels if staying in
downtown Victoria area.

When I booked our stay I was not informed that the hotel
was going to be under renovations at the time of our
stay. The hotel manager told me that he informed
hotels.com of the pending renovations. He did give us
complimentary parking for our inconvenience (there were
workmen on our balcony). Otherwise, it is a wonderful
hotel and we will likely be returning. However, I am not
impressed for not informing me of the renovations. It
really spoiled our holiday.

Close to downtown and Inner Harbour but far enough away
from the noise. Every room has a view of the harbour.
The Blue Crab restaurant below is a good place to eat
and not have to drive or walk home.

We have stayed there several times as our daughter lives
nearby... and doesn't have space. Always friendly and
helpful staff. Great views of the harbor and all the
activity. They are now installing scaffolding around the
building and I was told the hotel would be closed in a
couple of weeks for four months as they perform a major
exterior renovation, along with some interior
improvements.

Decent hotel in Victoria
If you want to stay within walking distance of downtown,
the Coast Harbourside is perfectly well suited. The
rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms could do
with an upgrade though (bathtub very small). Nice pool
(indoor/outdoor) and hot tub area. Had breakfast at the
restaurant once which was so-so. Good value for money
though.

The view from our room was less than impressive though
the rooms were quiet and clean. One of the biggest
issues was the poor service from the front desk clerks
throughout the 3 days we stayed. The internet service
was down at the complimentary kiosk for nearly the
entire 3 days we stayed with little attempt to fix it or
concern that it was not working. If we had wanted simply
to use the computer for facebook or reading the news, I
would not have held it against the hotel much however
most travellers now rely on internet access to check in
for flights, book tours, access travel information, etc.
It was extremely frustrating to have clerks be so
flippant about the lack of this service. Luckily on our
last night I was able to track down a manager who
allowed us to use his private office to print off
boarding passes for the ferry. We chose the Coast since
I have always enjoyed other Coast properties but this
was a true let down.
Pay the extra for a room with a view in advance when
booking. Gorgeous views of the marina compared to the
air conditioning unit if you cannot secure a water front
view.

We have stayed here many times. The hotel is very clean,
friendly staff and great food. The part we love is the
location, you are right in the heart of Victoria yet it
is in a quiet area and it is pet friendly |
