We recently stayed at the Harbor Towers in Victoria. We
felt welcomed and appreciated from the moment we walked
in. The staff was very attentive to our needs.
We had a wonderful room with a lovely view of the inner
harbor. The beds were very comfortable and it was a good
sized room.
I know some have said it is an older hotel, but it was
immaculate and the staff was very good.
It is a great location near the ferry and within walking
distance of Government street and all the shopping.
We only had one meal at Vic's, which was dinner. The
prices were in line with the rest of the area and I
thought the food was very good. The service was good as
well.
We were really happy with our stay and would consider
them again if we return to Victoria.

When visiting Victoria I usually stay in a different
hotel, but I tried this one because it was part of a
nice price with the Clipper. Upon check in, all went
well, I got in right away. Wasn't excited about the room
I received, it was facing the backside overlooking a
much nicer hotel not the harbor. In addition, this room
had no balcony, mini-fridge, or microwave in the room or
lobby as mentioned in the hotel description. No snack
vending machines as well. The ice machine was broken on
my floor, ice was available on other floors. One of the
beds was dipped in the middle side, later that night I
found out the frame did not fit the mattress properly
which was causing it to dip, I half-way fixed the
situation by lifting and shifting the (very heavy)
mattress the best I could.

First night my family used the pool, which was warm and
kept very clean, the workout center was exceptional with
nice equipment. Second night we ordered in room service,
it arrived quickly and the food was tasty. In-room
service worked for me due to the room having free
internet and a desk, which was very helpful for me to
complete some work. Despite the average dated room all
was going okay until my son flushed the toilet and came
running out saying "the toilet is over flowing." Earlier
I notice a little back up in the bathroom sink and one
flush that caused the toilet water to rise, but te water
had eventually went down. After waiting over an hour,
this time, the water did not go down and was all over
the bathroom floor, we grabbed all the towels to soak up
the water. We called the front desk the maintenance was
gone for the night. We were offered another room which
happen to be on the harborside and was a 1 bedroom suite
with a kitchen. Dated too, but very spacious. Before
seeing this room, my family would have NOT consider
staying at Harbor Towers again, but this room change my
opinion of what they offered. I guess my first room was
their basic of basic, with a little plumbing problem. I
appreciated the staff transfering me to a nicer room,
his way of making up for our inconvenience. The only
complaint regarding the move is that the flood happened
late around 10pm when all was done and we settled into
the new room it was 12am check out was at 11am. This
made it difficult with two little ones who didn't get a
night of rest. Overall the staff were pleasant, the
price affordable and the pool nice, I would suggest
guest book the 1 bedroom suite if you have simple needs
as a fridge or microwave.

We couldn't have asked for a better stay at Harbour
Towers. Yes, the hotel is a little run down, but it has
everything you could ask for; Free use of the gym, pool,
spa, sauna, computers with internet, printers & cable tv.
I was shocked at how amazingly friendly each and every
staff member was, from the front service desk to the
personel who cleaned our room. The restaurant had a
reasonable variety in terms of dishes and the wait staff
took a keen interest in getting to know you on a more
personal level. The hotel is located just out side of
the main town centre, but only a short distance walk
away. When asking the hotel staff for options of dining
and tourist attractions, they were more than happy to
make suggestions. They clearly knew what they were
talking about, we tried all of their ideas, and couldn't
have asked for a better vacation. |
