I usually use the IHG hotel brands and was enticed by a status Mach to use the
Choices hotels. Despite matching platinum status this seems to get nothing at
the hotel. Not even breakfast, complementary drinks or fruit. Having already
booked a suite I was not expecting an upgrade but some basic refinements would
be nice. Basic toiletries, no robes, fittings nearly as old as I am, CRT TVs
coffee maker patched together from several and a 'whirlpool' bath that barely
whirls. Also do not be fooled by the Quality Inn Downtown Victoria Inner Harbour
description, it is 3 blocks up the hill from the inner harbour of Victoria, not
sure if it is visible from upper floors or the roof.
The suite was a reasonable size with a kitchenette but the living room had a lot
of corridor noise and but road noise (ground floor) was not too bad as traffic
died down by the time you went to sleep. Not much chance for a lie in though!
All in all, not the worst, but most of the lodge style hotels I've stayed in
would both rank higher and cost less. This has pretty much put the nail in the
coffin of Choice Hotels group for me, no where near the standard they should be
for the price paid.

I would first start this by saying thank u to Sam and Annie great people and
kind and knowledgeable about where to go and where to eat. The motel itself is
very nice, clean and comfortable along with reasonable. Around all the staff was
kind and polite. When I go back to Victoria I will surely stay there again.
Again thank u to these people for making it such a wonderful stay and vacation.
I found a very reasonable rate on

We have enjoyed a couple of stays at the Quality Inn Downtown Victoria, in fact
doing another stay later this week! The rooms are pleasant and very clean. The
location is great for walking and seeing the downtown sights. My only complaint
was not being able to park in the parkade and we weren't even checking in that
late in the evening. Street parking worked fine, though.

Originally came over for the day on business and turned out I needed more time
in Victoria .
Dropped by in early afternoon and was able to obtain that last available room ,
and the staff allowed to me to snag it with minimal details , and I formally
checked in later on in the day .
Christina / Jamie were very accommodating as I had no basics
with me and provided some essentials such as shaving cream razors etc. to tide
me over
Room was surprisingly large with a bonus fridge and mini kitchen .
Parking rate was great too .
Quality Inn Downtown Victoria is in a Very handy DT location with all the main
attractions within walking distance .
the adjacent pub - Smith's- has a great atmosphere with good beer and food !

This is a nice hotel and it's very affordable. If you are coming over on the
ferry be sure to check the brochures as there is a coupon which gets you a
standard room for only 59.99.
Very nice , clean rooms. Bed was pretty good and the pillows were amazingly soft
and comfy !!! Haven't slept that well in a long while !!!! The pool was a nice
size and clean. We were even checked in early which was great. The staff were
friendly and helpful with directions etc.
Sometimes people give such different reviews that it makes it a little difficult
to select a hotel. I am very picky about where I stay so I can honestly tell you
that you will be pleased with all aspects of this hotel. ( I didn't try the
restaurant though) . THe Old Spaghetti Factory is a short walk away and worth
every step !! |
