The Red Lion Inn Victoria hotel was average, we got what we paid for and had a
great time overall. But it is not walking distance to town. If you are looking
to be close to downtown Victoria it is about 45-60 minute walk to downtown from
the hotel.

Red Lion Inn Victoria ia a very good hotel, and while the rooms are small,
they're not unusually small compared to what you'd get at any other place. The
rooms are tidy and ours were quite well-decorated. The hotel is located rather
conveniently in Victoria, though the liquor store and bar make for some
interesting late-night scenery. The noise is easily dealt with, and when my
window was closed I couldn't hear a thing. I would recommend this hotel overall
based on cost and cleanliness, and it's as affordable a way as any to see
Victoria.

What has happened to the Red Lion chain? I have stayed at several in the past
year and been sorely disappointed. I'm definitely not a 5 star (or even 3 star)
hotel kind of person, but no parking, a night club attached to the building that
is active every night and sucks up the parking, beer bottles in the stairwells,
piles of leaves INSIDE the stairwell doors (leaves have been off the trees now
for 4 months), sagging beds, a tiny window air conditioner/heating unit were the
fan clatters on low speed, maid service that took the used towels but didn't
replace them, didn't empty the garbage cans, and didn't make the bed (so I knew
they were in the room, but didn't do anything), and a toilet that barely flushed
even after holding the handle for 5 seconds. The only good things I can say:
room seemed fairly clean when I checked in, and there was a hair dryer in the
bathroom (even if high was no stronger than waving a piece of paper over your
head. I want to like the Red Lion brand, but my last few experiences have really
soured me on them.

I stayed here one night on a business trip. It is a great location in terms of
being close to Down Town Victoria. Just 10 minutes away. Rooms and bathroom are
quite small but beds are comfortable. If you are not going to spend much time in
the room this is a good choice. Great rate, nice staff and clean rooms. They
could use new carpets and air conditioners. .
This is not the place to bring young children as there is an up scale looking
Strip Club ( V Lounge) attached to the hotel. At night the clientele hangs
around the parking lot that they share with hotel. I imagine the intoxicated
ones do end of sleeping there for the night too.
All and all it was great location, great price and it was very comfortable.

The staff was excellent, the room was big and clean. The parking was free, and
the neighborhood was fine.

The only problem I had with this hotel was parking. All access to the hotel was
through the lobby, but there are only a dozen or so parking spots close to the
doors. The rest of the parking is behind the building, not at all convenient.

The staff were friendly-although seemed overworked. The room was really nice and
we were able to cook our own meals. The staff cleaned it really well also. It
was affordable, I recommend it!! Also, there is no breakfast included, although
in this survey it asks for a rating on breakfast to be complete so I just made
it up a rating

The perfect hotel for all your needs. Very friendly staff and a nicely appointed
room. Granite in the bathroom is beautiful and non existent in most hotel rooms.
Approx 5-8 min drive to the downtown Harbourfront. |
