My husband and I visit Victoria each month, and decided to try out the Oswego.
It is in a quiet neighborhood and good location. Beautiful looking hotel, but
suspect it is a 6 dressed up as a 9. First of all we had booked the Studio
Suite, which on their web site, states a Queen Bed and no mention of a Murphy
bed. Very uncomfortable and noticed plywood under mattress. We complained at the
front desk, but for a price we could upgrade. This is false advertising.
Secondly, our sink and shower were draining very poorly. We complained to
housekeeping and was informed maintenance would be in shortly, and never showed
during our 3 day stay.
Will not be returning to hotel or recommending it to friends.

We stayed here in May of 2011. Canada has a big holiday on the weekend we were
there. The Oswego is close to everything in downtown Victoria. The rooms are
very clean, modern, and "spa-like". The Murphy bed wasn't the greatest, but it
was much better than the bed on Orca's Island. We would probably get one of the
rooms with a real bed next time. We had breakfast in the hotel, and it was very
nice. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to our friends.

Had a lovely experience at the Oswego. The 1br suite was reasonably priced and
very nice. Nice view and friendly staff.

Ate Christmas Dinner at the Oswego Hotel, did not stay there. The choice for
Christmas Dinner was turkey with all the trimmings or salmon and at a very
reasonable price, I think it was $40 for the 3 course meal. I had the salmon, my
dinner partner the turkey. I tried both and both were made exactly how you would
expect either to be. I had crème brule for dessert and a nice port and was
equally satisfied.
The service was pleasant and professional and the atmosphere very nice, easily
found parking seeing as it was a holiday but perhaps may be a challenge through
out regular business hours. Only negative I'd have to give is that we were
seated near a wall of California shutters which, really needed some dusting.
Left with a good feeling, and would go back again!

I spent one night at the Oswego Hotel in a studio suite and was impressed with
all aspects of this property. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood with
excellent proximity to downtown Victoria, allowing walk ability for business and
leisure travelers alike. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff,
exceptionally clean room with unexpected room amenities.
I was surprised at the compact, yet full kitchen, which was equipped with a
microwave, cooktop, compact fridge and dishwasher as well as all necessary
kitchen wares and small appliances. The French press and complimentary fair
trade organic coffee were a nice luxury touch!
The bathroom was spa like and spacious and I appreciated the inclusion of two
bathrobes, a container of cotton swabs, cotton balls and decent quality
toiletries. The water pressure in the shower was fabulous and this is one of my
"great hotel" must-haves.
I was a little apprehensive about the Murphy bed, fearing the mattress would be
uncomfortable and thin. It was a bit firm for my liking, but my fear of feeling
springs poke through was un-founded.
Finally, the linens and towels were crisp, clean and new.
