Review of the Accent Inn Victoria

The room tried really hard to look renovated. There was newer carpets, window
coverings, and basic hotel furniture. A newer flat screen was located in the
"living room". Next to the modern television was an unbelievably ancient double
hot plate/sink/mini fridge unit with an equally ancient overhead stove fan.
I remember seeing something similar in motels from the late 70s, but I wasn't
much older than a toddler then so my memory could be hazy. Nonetheless, it gave
the room an unflattering introduction. This would still make the room at least a
3.5, as the cooker/washer/cooler unit kinda has some built in nostalgia, but
then you get to the bathroom. Like really?!
The toilet was old... No amount of scrubbing is going to make that thing look
clean. Then the bath tub/shower... Eek. The walls were lined with an ancient
linoleum, that I do remember as common in the early 80s. It was ugly then and is
even uglier now. The plastic shower head was stained brown with age and the
water shot out like needles. There was no adjusting that antique.
The bright spot... The bed sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. But
then, the old school tube TV in the bedroom kept reminding me how dated the room
is.
The staff were very pleasant and I got the impression that the desk clerk and
the Assistant Manager really cared when I honestly answered their question on
how my stay was: it was so-so.
Given the excellent location and great staff, I would likely stay at this hotel
again, and hope that by the time I go back to Victoria, a proper renovation has
been completed.

The Inn was so cute. The room had everything we needed including the fridge and
stove top elements. It was spacious and set up well. We loved our location
because we could pull up to the ramp at the 2nd floor and drop off mom (had
surgery a while back) so she didn't have to do stairs or an elevator. The beds
were very comfortable as well.
Linda and Diane were awesome and were such a wealth of information, never mind
funny and always smiling. We had such a nice stay and would go back there again!

I've just returned from a business trip in Victoria and was booked at the Accent
Inn. Don't hesitate to stay here. Comfortable, clean, conveniently located, the
staff will blow you away with service. Diane, Laurie, Whitney, Malcolm, thank
you all! Friendliest cleaning staff too. Play your cards right and you just
might find some fresh baked cookies in the lobby around 6pm :-) Van Houtte
coffee always free in the lobby and provided in room. Access to great gym
nearby, walking distance from the new Uptown Centre with great stores. Go for
it...you'll be happy you chose the Accent Inn!

Discovered the Accent Inn when a relative was admitted into the Royal Jubilee
Hospital - recommended hotel offering a good "medical" rate. Convenient to the
hospital, clean rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of parking and very helpful
staff (from front desk to cleaning staff). The wheel chair accessible rooms were
most appreciated. We like the hotel enough that this is now where we stay every
time we go down to Victoria.
Although we have not tried other meals there, the ABC Restaurant attached to the
hotel is recommended for breakfast. Reasonable value and, like the hotel, very
friendly and helpful staff.

Service was excellent - I arrived soon after midday after a disastrous set of
flights and little sleep the night before; switching the room to one that had
been cleaned and getting an early check in was no problem, and all done with
good humour. Room was clean and well equipped and quiet despite the proximity of
a main road. Location is convenient for major routes out of Victoria. Diner next
door serves decent diner food and gives a 10% discount to hotel guests, also
allowing meals to be charged to the hotel room.
