Hotel Reviews of the Four Points by Sheraton Victoria
14 March 2012
I had a quick two day business trip and a colleague recommended staying at Four
Points. As an SPG member, I always look for a Sheraton property to stay at and
while I have never stayed in a Four Points hotel before, I certainly would
again. The staff was attentive and eager to please, the rooms were spacious and
clean, the location was near my meeting place so that worked out wonderfully for
me. I checked in and out quickly and the room was well maintained. I hate it
when little things are broken or not clean and this room met all of my
expectations.
Unlike another review in February, I relaxed and enjoyed the peace and quiet and
slept wonderfully. I enjoyed the bar downstairs after my meetings in the evening
and met some lovely people. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again
and would recommend it to my friends and colleagues as well.

We were overall disappointed with this hotel. The room was small and the
bathroom basic,
We were expecting a little luxury something a bit better than a regular hotel
room. What we got was a very average hotel, I have stayed in Best Westerns which
were cleaner and more up to date than this hotel. Situated next to a Costco this
hotel felt cramped, OK for a quick business trip but not a family weekend when
you need more room. We had to ask for the key to get into the pool which felt
like an afterthought tagged onto the side of the hotel. Given the price we paid
it was overrated.

We chose this hotel because of it's economical off-season rate and it totally
exceeded our expectations !! The room was spacious & super clean with a lovely
view of mountains. We could easily walk to an outlet mall as well as many other
stores. Free newspapers, free wireless internet & they have a pool & fitness
room as well. Huge pub restaurant on the premises. Service was a little slow --
they apologized about being understaffed and were as attentive as they could be
under the circumstances. Typical pub food but large portions. The front desk
staff were super helpful with questions & advice about area services. The heater
in our room wasn't working properly so it was very hot at night -- during the
day we had to turn on the air-conditioner. In hindsight we should have asked for
another room. I would definitely stay here again -- a very pleasant 4 night stay
!!

My Wife and I spent a week here and really enjoyed our stay. The day we got there
they were having a classic car show in the back of the hotel which was pretty
neat. The location was a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car. Actually, I'd
say a car is a must if you choose to stay here and are hoping to see downtown.
Located in Langford, It's about 20 minutes outside of downtown Victoria but
because of this we were able to get a 40% discount off the normal rate! The
location is a bit hidden. We actually got lost on the way there. Also the
location is a bit odd as it's behind a Costco. That didn't bother us but I
imagine some might be bothered by it. One attraction it is close to is Hatley
Castle. The home of Xavier School for the gifted featured in X-Men. Hatley
Castle also has a magnificent garden, which I think we enjoyed just as much as
Butchart. Back to the hotel, the rooms were nice and clean and the staff was
always very helpful. We had an excellent stay and if we are ever back in the
Victoria area we'll be back. |
