Review of the Marriott Hotel Victoria Inner Harbor
16 February 2012
Room 815 is on a small floor with only sixteen rooms on it. It is quiet! Even
with the window (which faces the Chateau Victoria Hotel) opened, we could hear
very little noise. The room is spacious with a nice writing desk, easy chair and
ottoman, large TV cabinet (with a 42 inch TV – which has more channels than you
could ever watch) and a king size bed with night stands. We ordered a
refrigerator and it arrived in the room, almost as soon as we did.
Okay, what is it with these small fridges. They always seem to have a desire to
be either a freezer or an oven. In our cases, it was a freezer. We had lovely
juicesicles and ice cold sodas. So, not all is wonderful in Marriott land.
The bathroom is large and best described as Victorian. It has good quality
fixtures but the towel rack which is in the shower/tub confuses me. In order to
take a shower, one must remove all the towels and place them outside the shower
curtain. Strange. Oh yes, the (Kohler) shower is about six foot two inches high
and has reasonable water pressure.

The Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour was a great central location for Victoria.
Most of downtown Victoria is very walk able and it was easy to reach most places
by foot. I was in town for a conference and got a better rate at the Marriott
compared to The Empress. I ended up with a room on the same level as the pool
and meeting rooms, but it didn't end up being a problem for me. I'd definitely
suggest staying here as long as the price is right.
Also, I lucked out into a function on the top floor of the hotel. It has a great
view of the city looking south. The view isn't as impressive as the hotel behind
us, but it was a nice, cozy room.
My only beef was the food they provided during the conference lunches. It tasted
good except that my colleague found a bug in her food. Thankfully, or not, I had
already finished my food.
See if you can ask for a south facing room. Those have a street view of the
condo across the street for the first 6 floors. Anything above the 6th floor
probably has some water views. I ended up looking at the inner courtyard. That
wasn't interesting.

The location is amazing right downtown. we really didn't need to bring our car.
We could walk to everything we wanted to see and really good shopping!!. :)
Our room was amazing and we received a discount. so we upgraded to the one
bedroom suite and were ecstatic! We had our own kitchen, a big bed, free wifi, a
big tv in the wall. really everything was there and its clean and NEW* .
They allow pets. they have the pool, the fitness center and the restaurant which
the food was amazing.
The staff was very helpful and polite and we will be returning next year.

This is a newer hotel in the heart of downtown Victoria. As platinum guests we
were upgraded to a beautiful 1 bedroom suite and a perfect view of the strait
and mountains beyond. The hotel is walking distance to all the downtown sights
including the inner harbour, the Empress, the museum, restaurants and much more.
The service we received was excellent, and the concierge was very helpful with
suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. There is a nice pool which we had
mostly to ourselves for much of our visit. I would suggest city parking to the
hotel parking if you want to save some money.
We recommend this hotel and will return on our next visit to Victoria.

Stayed here on New years eve for the first time. It was a good price, parking
was a little extra, but secure. Location is great, easy to drive to and close to
everything downtown. Rooms were very traditional looking, very nice furniture,
bed and bathroom, all very clean. Staff was friendly and efficient. It was a
last minute booking, so was on the 4th floor, no view, but still quiet. Would
definitely go back. |
