Review of the Accent Inn Victoria
7 October 2011
I had just arrived home from vacation on the airport van. It dropped me at the
reception desk where I asked to use a phone to call a taxi. I was welcomed to a
warm chair out of the elements and offered use of the computer or a newspaper
while I waited by Laurie. I did not stay at this hotel I live in Victoria but
will recommend Accent Inns to all out of town friends.

We were so impressed with this facility. They have gone the extra mile in being
conscious of recycling, use of paper, using less plastic, having a recycle bin
in each room and the most impressive is that they have a bicycle station for
tune-ups. The room was very clean and had a well equipped kitchen area.
Extremely comfortable mattresses. They had an arrangement with the Royal Jubilee
hospital to give a discount to those who had to stay for medical procedures.
This is the kind of accommodation we like to support!

Good clean facility. Friendly staff. Good location if you have a car - and they
have transportation to the downtown area.

Three m/c riding buddies stayed here one night. Two queens and a cot. Based on
the amount of snoring that kept me awake (just kidding), the sleep must have
been good. Actually, it was very good since I managed to sleep in past 8 AM
which I never do. Other than the street work that was going on overnight, the
place was quiet. The room was clean, comfortable and even had the right number
of linens (how often have you stayed somewhere with more than two people that
you've had to call down for more towels?). The value was okay as well - probably
average and you definitely have comparable alternatives in the area

My wife and I stayed overnight in Sept/Oct 2010. While the rooms facing the back
are quiet compared to the rooms facing the street, the rear rooms are a bit dark
inside. The quality of the rooms is similar to the Burnaby Accent Inn - Queen
Size beds, old style large colour TV (in Sept 2011) with cable channels.
We liked the fridge and coffee making facility. The bathroom is functional but
couldn't be called cutting-edge modern. While the Burnably Accent Inn is near
several restaurants, the Victoria Accent Inn has just a family-style restaurant
adjacent.
One plus or negative depending on your needs: the Victoria Accent Inn is located
approx 5-7 kms/miles from downtown a on a main artery leading into central
Victoria. So you are away from the downtown buzz but need a car to get to
downtown and tourist attractions. The free internet in small lobby can be busy
at times. No free continental breakfast. Rate it 3 star.
