Review of the Quality Inn Downtown Victoria

My wife and I stayed at this comfort inn during a short trip to Victoria. It was a pleasant surprise!! Our room even had a water view. The room was very large - one bedroom suite with kitchen. It was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The service by the staff was outstanding - they processed our arrival and departure in just minutes and were extremely friendly. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and very fresh food items.
We would stay here again without a worry!!

This location is very central to restaurants, bar and downtown attractions. You can walk to almost anything you need. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is for the budget traveler, so do not expect any frills or white glove service. Parking is cheap at $6! Rooms very clean and pretty standard. If you want a budget room just to sleep but be central, this is a good choice. Did not hear the pub down below which was good news. Room Tip: I would ask for a higher floor if you want to avoid street noise

We were pleasantly surprised by this unpretentious, quirky little hotel: it was affordable, clean and quiet, and the location is almost unbeatable. The decor was pleasant, and the tiny steam room, although only big enough for two, heated up very quickly. Choose this hotel if you want an affordable, functional place to stay and don't care about valets, chocolates on your pillow and the other perks of first class. This is a Chevrolet that gets the job done, not a limo. Oh, one more thing: don't eat breakfast here. The hashbrowns I had were horrible. Instead, walk around the corner to Vista 18, and have breakfast in the clouds.

While convenient to the harbour, this is a noisy and poorly run hotel. Walls and floors are very thin, so you hear every footstep above and conversation. The ventilation system also made a horrid squealing noise when it turned on (there was no controls in the room to turn it off) and would wake us at night. We noticed a group of young party goers on our last night there, and let front desk know at 9pm that they were loud. They continued to party downstairs all night, and returned to their room at 2:30 am, at which point I had to step out into the hall to request them to be quiet. Another call to the front desk and I was told 'they were keeping an eye on them' (which, is apparently all they did.) This loud group walked through the lobby to get the elevator and obviously were not told to keep it down, nor did anyone follow up with my call.
If you value your sleep, chose elsewhere, not worth the $150 a night.

Big room with a small kitchen makes it possible to make a cheaper holiday. Everything you need is here. Due to bad air condition (or none?) our room was too hot, but this was the hottest time this summer. No breakfast.
