Guest Review of the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort Victoria

After carefully reviewing top hotels in Victoria on Trip
Advisor I chose the Delta for a girls weekend away and
it lived up to it's reviews!
My criteria was as follows, must have pool and hot tub,
must have decent (read kind of fancy) bar and
restaurant, must be walking distance from downtown, and
of course the room must be nice.
On arrival we were promptly check in, our room was nice.
I selected one that was on special on their website. It
was not the best room i've ever stayed in and to be
honest I was expecting a bit more but maybe I just
expected to much, I did pick the cheapest room so
you can't expect the best, but it was nice.
Although it's a very short walk across the bridge to
downtown (less than 5 minutes) we had a complimentary
shuttle take us downtown and our car valeted. The 2 men,
who assisted us were fantastic, they had been working at
the hotel for sometime and we really friendly and
helpful!
We used the pool and gym and sauna, all perfect with the
pool being inside but with a glass roof which gives it a
great feeling. We all had a great weekend away and will
return again next time we are visiting Victoria.

I stayed at the Delta Ocean Pointe on business for 2
days in November. Overall the stay was very relaxing and
productive. The room was spacious with a king size bed
and a nice desk with access to plugs for my laptop and
phone chargers. The HVAC system was quiet and effective.
I ordered room service for breakfast one morning and it
arrived nice and hot within 10-15 minutes and with a
smile. I would consider staying here again on my next
trip to Victoria but will likely sample another (
smaller) hotel to compare.

This is one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in
and we travel often. From the moment we arrived, the
people were phenomenal and very helpful. We arrived by
car ferry hours before check-in, but not only did they
not even mention our early arrival, they had a room
ready for us. No wait. They also upgraded us to a harbor
view and a corner room with two views. The bed is super
comfy, the room is large and clean. Fabulous location to
downtown. The valet parking is only $2 more than parking
yourself. They made great shopping and dining
recommendations as well. The pool, hot tub and sauna
make for a great way to end the day, plus the WiFi in
the room is free and the fitness center never closes. We
even ordered room service and the young lady refused to
take a tip. The rates were cheap and the value for what
we spent is incalculable. Highly recommended!
Room Tip: Ask for the harbor view corner rooms on the
6th, 7th or 8th floor. What amazing views - day and
night. Only $25 more for the harbor view.

I stayed here on business, the views of the harbor make
up for the older classic looking room and bathroom is a
bit dated. The room is functional and i was able to do
work at the desk while looking out the window. The
Health club was nice but busy in the morning; it seems
the hotel shares the facility. The restaurant view was
very nice but it is overpriced and the menu had too many
unique items on it. If you are stay 4-5 days and want a
regular dinner you won’t find it here. More affordable
cuisine is a short ways across the bridge. Being a
privileged member helps with available access to club
room and free breakfast is a nice perk. This is
defiantly one of the better hotels to stay at if you are
in Victoria.

Delta Victoria Pointe Resort & Spa is top notch for
customer service. This hotel has amazing friendly staff
and so helpful. The rooms are spotless with fresh linens
each day. Each morning on the 3rd floor Signature room,
you are greeted by a friendly hostess with the offering
of fresh specialty coffee or teas, cheeses, fresh fruit
with a choice of different cereals, and baking goods. It
is great to be able to walk downtown Victoria as you are
so close . This hotel offers a driving service to take
you downtown and pick you up after your dining
experience. Always a treat to stay here, never a
disappointment. |
