Review of the Abigail Hotel Victoria BC

We went to Victoria for a relaxing and romantic vacation. We selected
Abigails from all the great reviews they had. Our room was perfect for
just that! The staff was so helpful and gave us many suggestions on
activities. We ended up going to the Royal British Museum. Went to the
gardens- which were just beautiful.

My husband and I have stayed twice at Abigail's and loved it both times.
The hotel is intimate and elegant, staff are courteous and friendly. The
location is excellent, within walking distance to everything most
visitors would want to see. Rooms are quiet and well-appointed, very
clean with quality furnishings. The gourmet breakfast is outstanding. We
enjoyed the delicious hors d'oerves, (served daily at 5:00), and
complimentary coffee/tea, while reading in the library. What a great way
to relax after a day of sightseeing and unwind before heading out for
dinner. We'd stay here again.

My fiancé and I spent 7 days at Abigail's and were married by the
garden! The entire staff of the hotel are committed to first class
service and even served as witnesses for our wedding. We happened to be
there during one of the owner's (Ellen) visit. She was very nice and and
her commitment to the property and guests' experiences were very
apparent. We stayed in the coach house which is closer a main street
(Quadra) and therefore a bit noisy if you had the windows open. The room
was well appointed, though we did not have the fresh flowers that the
website stated were in every room. I was a bit anxious about the B&B
aspect of Abigail's, i.e., I didn't want to feel that I had to be chummy
every morning at breakfast with the other guests, but that anxiety was
unnecessary as you can make the experience as "B&B" as you want.
The breakfast was as scrumptious as previous reviewers noted - Matt and
Victoria were very accommodating of special requests. The hotel is
ideally located - close to the tourist centre (downtown), Beacon Hill
Park (a lovely way to start your morning) and Antique Row.
A spa recently opened in the hotel and we used it but had our massage
rescheduled and a service we requested was not available. I suspect
these are the growing pains as the spa develops.

Wow! No, really - wow!
Very nice old mansion converted into a Bed and Breakfast. Great rooms,
including rooms with sitting areas, fireplaces, and jetted tubs. Quiet,
yet only a few blocks to the part of downtown with the best restaurants,
and it was a nice walk too.
Breakfast is fantastic, nice progression of dishes.
Cocktail and appy's at 5pm in the Library, they have a really good wine
selection and will cellar anything you don't finish for you for the next
night.
The concierge was great, got us hard to get reservations, and set up
some fun events for us. Best way to go, let the expert plan your day.
They aren't on commission, you'll get an unbiased itinerary.
While you could stay at the Empress, this is a much nicer location, with
a much more personal touch. Don't miss out.

Abigail's was an excellent experience! Having never stayed at a B&B
style hotel before, we were pleasantly surprised how well this hotel was
run. Outstanding customer service from the front desk always sets the
tone upon arrival, and it was outstanding to say the least.
Charming rooms, with all of the amenities of other 5 star hotels made
our stay very comfortable. Breakfast [room service in our case] was
fantastic, do not miss it! Thanks again Abigail's, we will be back soon.
