The reason why I chose this hotel is because it had a
harbour view and was significantly cheaper than the
other hotels in the inner harbour.
It was nice to wake up and see the view of the harbour
from my bed first thing every morning. I enjoyed
watching the boats, the sea planes and seeing the
mountains in the distance. (A negative regarding this
though was the noise of the sea planes.)
Overall, I was highly impressed with the friendly staff.
They went out of their way to make my trip more
pleasurable. I was especially impressed with the front
desk staff as well as the driver of the free shuttle
van.
I ended up having to cut my stay short because I caught
the flu. When I informed the front desk that I needed to
check out a few days earlier because I was sick, they
delivered a beautiful (and complimentary) tray of
different flavoured teas with honey to my room.
Originally, I was disappointed with the location because
it is a bit of walk to get to the restaurants, shopping
and the night spots. (The hotel is located on a
different harbour than "the happening" area.) As soon as
I tried the free shuttle into town, my disappointment
went away. The driver drove us to the restaurant of our
choice and all we had to do was call him and tell him
where to pick us up when we were ready. It was extremely
convenient.
I did not have an opportunity to use the hotel
restaurant or room service as I found it to be a bit
pricey.
The room was clean and had all of the amenities I
needed. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have
a fridge and tea kettle. The cleaning staff were great.
I felt that my rental car was extremely secure in the
parking garage. They provide you with a pass code number
which is needed to exit the garage and they change this
number on a weekly basis.
Overall, I was extremely happy with my stay and I would
not hesitate to stay there again. It has also made me
want to try other Coast hotels in other cities as well.

What can I say? I love Canadians!
Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff here...
Restaurant food was really good, especially at
breakfast... The location was fantastic with stunning
views, watching the sea-planes take off and land in the
bay...
Really nice. Highly recommended.

We wanted a nice place to stay for our anniversary. This
hotel is a tremendous value. We got a harbour view room
for less than the cost of basic rooms elsewhere in the
area. Room was clean, and we also made use of the pool
and hot tub which were great.
Only complaints were that the room wasn't ready when we
got there at 4 pm (about an hour after check-in time).
Also had to pay $11.99 a night for parking which I
hadn't been told before we got there. The parkade is
gated, but anyone can drive in. You need an exit code to
get out and I was given the wrong code at first. So
basically, it's secure in that anyone not supposed to be
there can't get out. :P
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, and our complaints
were minor glitches that don't warrant lowering the
rating on this place. We'd definitely return.

We stayed here for an anniversary celebration and
decided to spend a few extra dollars for a harbour view
and it was well worth it. We had a very comfortable
sized room, nicely decorated. Our only complaint is the
bed was not very comfortable at all, but we've
experienced worse.
The restaurant was quite good. Great views of the
harbour. We found dinner more worth it than breakfast,
but it was still more than adequate.
We enjoyed taking the seawall & boardwalk into the inner
harbour - very nice walk. Fisherman's Wharf just a
little past the hotel is worth checking out too.
All in all, we had a great stay & would come back again.

We stayed at the Coast Harborview hotel in early
September. The room was clean, bed comfortable. The only
thing visitors should be aware of is there is an
additional charge of $11.95 per night for parking.
Other than that, it was nice to be in a hotel that was
just off the main busy street, but still close enough to
walk to everything.

We spent two nights at the hotel. It is on the inner
harbor offering a beautiful view. We were able to walk
to all the harbor sites and also to several very good
restaurants. The staff was very helpful in giving us
advice and directions.

This whole hotel is uninspired, right from the bored
staff at the front desk to the average rooms to the
average beds to the frankly poor breakfasts. And if
you're in a room overlooking the water, all I can is, I
hope you like the sound of floatplanes taking off and
landing early in the morning.

The property is a little dated (most noticeable in the
bathroom plumbing) but is in excellent repair. My room
and the corridors were pleasantly decorated in shades of
sands and browns. Beds weren't the best, especially the
pillows, but I've had way worse. Many rooms have a
partial harbour view with what I think you call a
"Juliet balcony". (Basically a patio door and a
railing). The best feature of the balcony is that is
permits lots of fresh air into the room- none of those
hotel windows that only open one inch!
The restaurant and bar have an impressive harbour view.
Be warned that it is a "gourmet" restaurant and the
prices reflect this. (Great for a romantic evening, but
not a family dining venue).
You do hear seaplane noise, but I consider that to be an
integral part of the character of the city. Wake up with
the morning seaplanes and take an early stroll around
the harbour wall!
The parking arrangement is a minor unnecessary
complication. Besides gouging you an extra $12 a day, it
lets motorists in freely via an automated gate but you
need a code to get out again. At 11PM they lock the
garage and you have to find somewhere to stop your car,
walk up to the front desk, and wait for someone to walk
around to the garage entrance to manually let you in! I
felt like a kid sneaking home after curfew- I guess
rolling up the sidewalk at 11PM is an integral part of
the city's character as well! |
