"What Guests are saying about Marriott Hotel Victoria "

Guest Review of the Marriott Hotel Victoria Inner Harbor

We recently had a two night stay at the Marriott, Victoria, booked through a third party. We had wanted a King bed but since this was not available we were "given" an upgrade to a concierge floor. This proved meaningless as the lounge was closed throughout our entire stay (Friday-Sunday afternoon). The room was compact with reasonable amenities (soap but no shower gel) but otherwise everything was well thought out in an economical but not particularly stylish way. (This is not a hotel for anyone who dislikes green and red as a color combination in garish patterns) There are vending machines in the hallways for soft drinks or water and a laundry by the fitness centre. There seemed to be a reasonable selection of gym equipment but the pool was small and didn't look very appealing. (We stayed last year at the Delta Suites and their pool is much nicer but the location is off centre). The highlight (apart from a good, quiet sleep) was breakfast. While the selection did not appear fantastic, there was everything I could have hoped for including gluten free bread and cappuccinos included in the buffet price ($17 I think) with excellent and friendly service from the ladies on duty. Broadband was complimentary which is greatly appreciated. I like to try out new hotels and think this is probably the best I have stayed in in Victoria. However the Sidney Pier Hotel in Sidney near the airport and ferries is a more stylish option in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott. The room and bathroom were very nice and of standard Marriott quality. We had drinks and bev on their outdoor patio, one of their first sunny days. The service and food was excellent.
Their breakfast buffet was very nice and omelet's were made to order. Again service was excellent.
The only thing that I could recommend for the hotel is to put sound proof glass in, there was a little bit of noise from the outside.
Budget rental car is right across the street, very convenient.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was spacious and spotless; the pool was warm and in pristine condition. Although the hotel is large, the staff knew our names by the end of the first day even though we are not conspicuous in our behavior. I cannot say enough for how enjoyable our stay was. It is only several blocks to the inner harbour itself.
We did not use the restaurant as we are light eaters, so I cannot comment upon the quality.

The hotel has everything that you would expect from a Marriott. We have been travelling all over western Canada on our trip and the rate we were able to get ($99 a night) is obviously value for money. I don't know if it is just the off season or competition in Victoria, but we paid the same for a three star hotel in Kamloops and the two experiences were markedly different. The staff were excellent, friendly and considerate.

When I have to travel to a city where there isn't a Marriot I really don't want to go. The Marriot Inner Harbour is in a great spot that allows you to walk/get around Victoria.
The restaurant (Fire and water) is fantastic and worth a meal or two. You can't go wrong staying at this hotel. We loved this Marriott. Close to all the attractions. Lovely interior design. I have never seen a hotel room anywhere that was this clean. the room seemed almost brand new.
I have stayed at many Marriott and the one thing you can count on is
1. The hotel is clean
2. The staff is helpful
3. The hotel is consistent in what they offer
4. The beds are the best in the business and they have the best pillows

Good Hotel, decent sized rooms. Decor a little chintzy for my liking but pretty neutral considering it's in Victoria! Good gym and pool, Hotel restaurant was good too with good special deals every day.

We booked directly with the hotel, Great rate of $100 per night.
When we arrived early the room was ready, check in was fast,
once we got to the room it had 2 double beds, one call got a corner room with a king size bed. I have to say that the sheets are the nicest sheets I have every slept in. Nice quiet hotel.
Everything that I expected!

we stayed at the Marriott for a few day after Christmas. having stayed here several times before we can't imagine staying anywhere else. once again everything was perfect. friendly staff and spotlessly clean rooms. we asked for a corner balcony room and were given one on the top floor with views of the legislature and ocean. you can walk to the inner harbor, restaurants and shopping. we will be back...

I really liked the Marriott. Newer property shows. Very nice decor the rooms were quite large for a hotel and the bathrooms were a nice size also. Very clean overall, service was excellent. Loved the bed and bedding and the robes. The bathroom was done in a very nice tile. Balcony was nice as is the location, close to everything. Higher floors have better views. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and again.

We liked the location and checked out the price - a very reasonable off-season rate, and to improve things our room was upgraded. Everything was as it should be - neat, clean and well organized. It even had trilight bulbs in the trilight light fixtures. (Don't laugh - I have lost track of the number of hotels that scrimp by putting regular bulbs in the trilight fixtures, and as a consequence there is inadequate light for reading.)

Although there was evidence that our floor was well occupied, we found the room to be very quiet.

Great, friendly staff, check in was a breeze, parking easy and convenient, fantastic location, reasonable rates, good food and the cleanest rooms we have ever seen. Get the IDEA, we have been to Victoria many times before, but never stayed here, i never liked chain hotels that much before. The room was very attractively appointed, 2 huge floor to ceiling windows, and they opened. Nice refrigerator safe and all the usual stuff. I called about a point of interest we wanted o see, and was asked if it was ok to be put on hold for a little bit-no problem. He called them got the rates, times and later brought to the room written directions to the location-WOW. We were given excellent recommendations for restaurants throughout the city. The day before we left we went to a highly recommended place for breakfast,( The Blue Fox) the line was 50 strong- I don't do lines, so we walked around forever and finally ate lunch somewhere. The last day I needed breakfast and hating to go to hotel restaurants, I bit the bullet and went to the Fire and Water restaurant in the lobby. It was excellent, I had the buffet with an omelets bar and all the food you could want, the pastries were the best I have had in years.
